Walking inside the Church of Saint Savas "Karonos" was the only thing left to do during our visit there.
Fortunately enough one of the doors was open and we had the chance to admire the beautiful Church.
We lighted the candles and the atmosphere became instantly warmer.
We noticed that the images are not the original ones but have been replaced in order to protect them as we later found out.We saw two images of Saints Savas, one of them referring to the Saint as "Igiasmenos". This is because of the Holiness of the Saint who lived a spiritual life but also because he promoted with various ways the Christian religion during his life.
After a while it was time for as to leave but we will definitely visit the monastery again when we are in the area!
