After our visit at the Muslim temple at Mallia village we walked for a while through the narrow streets and found the Church of Panagia (Holy Mother) of Mallia.
The Church did not seem to be very old but it was probably the most important element of the Greek Cypriot community of the village for many years.
We couldn't get inside to visit the Church as the key was not available at the time but we will at our next visit. One of the locals told us the story were shots had been fired inside the Church and the icon of Holy Mother has visible the sign of a bullet!
We will surely return to Mallia to explore more of what is has to offer...
