A visit at Kalopanayiotis Village

A visit at Kalopanayiotis Village

Kalopanagiotis is a very beautiful village at Marathasa valley near Troodos mountains and the Kykkos monastery.

Our visit is always a pleasure as there are many things to see and experience. Kalopanayiotis is one of the best restored and well preserved villages in Cyprus. The village authorities have managed to gain millions of euros from EU funds to upgrade the village into one of the nicest resorts in Cyprus.

Story has it that Kalopanayiotis took its name from one of two brothers, ( Petros and Panayiotis). Panayiotis was the good brother ("Kalo" means good) and  Petros the bad brother.

The two brothers split and Panayiotis forms Kalopanayiotis village and Petros forms Kakopetria village, which is located on the other side of the mountains ("Kako" means bad).

If you happen to be in the area a visit to Kalopanayiotis is highly recommended!
