Sometimes you don't have to go far to discover the beauties in Cyprus. History and culture can be found anywhere.
A visit in Kato Pafos for a coffee near the port is always a favourite destination. Just 2 minutes of walking distance you can find the Church of Holy Mother "Panagia Theoskepasti" on the top of a rock.
An old Church, now replaced by a new one - since 1926, was in place on that rock for centuries. Legend has it that when the Saracens were coming to land in Pafos and steal the precious things of the Church, a big cloud covered the area so they could not reach it. Once they left and went back to the their ship the Church appeared again. Once they tried to steal again, the cloud would appear covering the Church so they would not reach it. So they finally left empty handed.
Since then the Church is called "Theoskepasti" which means covered by God!
