Monument of two Heroes at Potamitissa village
Leaving from Agros village going to Pafos through the mountains, there are a lot of things to see and do along the way.
One of our first stops was at Potamitissa village, a very nice village in the Pitsilia area of Limassol.
Although it was a sunny day when we reached Potamitissa, the weather changed and suddenly it started raining! It was simply fantastic!
We had the chance though to stop for a while and see the monuments of two local heroes. Stylianos Lenas and Demetrakis Christodoulou, who died on 17 February 1957 during the struggle of EOKA (the Greek Cypriot struggle against the British ruling Cyprus between 1955-1959). Both of them although not from Potamitissa, died on the same day in different locations called "Leivadies" and "Arkatzin tou Pyrou" near the village.
