The Church of Archangel Michael at Platanistasa
Walking around the beautiful Platanistasa that day we saw a stairway leading to the Church of Archangel Michael. We walked the stairway and found ourselves in a beautiful spot were we admired the view of the village.
Walking around the Church we immediately thought that it must be a newer edition of an older Church. We were correct as we later found out. The existing Church was constructed during the 19th century in the place of an older 15th century one.
The older Church, also devoted to Archangel Michael was full of beautiful wall paintings but the locals not realizing its value at the time failed to preserve it.
