Our short visit at Palaichori village gave as the chance to see one of the most important Churches in the region. The one of "Metamorfoseos tou Sotiros" (Transfiguration of the Saviour).
The Church is considered World Heritage since 2000 by UNESCO. It was originally constructed in the 16th century and is coherent with the design type of the Troodos mountain Churches.
Inside you can see a number of well preserved wall paintings of Venetian painting style, the one that succeeded the Byzantine style.
If you want to visit the Church inside you have to be there in the morning or look for the key from the village authorities.
