The Byzantine Church of Archangel Michael at Chandria village, Pitsilia area, Limassol

The Byzantine Church of Archangel Michael at Chandria

Our first stop at Chandria village was the Church of Archangel Michael.

It is one of the two Churches of the village and the larger of the two. It is located just opposite the coffee shops of the village near the road leading to Lagoudera or Agros village.

We left our car at the parking area of the Church to have a look around. The Church was locked and we couldn't get inside.

We immediately noticed that the Church is not in a good condition and a renovation is needed urgently. Perhaps this is the main reason it is locked. Through the windows though we managed to see that the walls are painted with images we hope next time to have the chance to go inside!

We hope that the efforts of the community will soon be fruitful and the Church is restored in its former state!
