A visit at Chandria village

After our short visit at Kyperounda village we headed for Chandria village.

Chandria is one of the highest villages in Cyprus (reported as second highest) at an elevation of 1,275 meters above sea level.

It is also the birth place of hero Stylianos Lenas whose monuments we came across twice in our tours outside of Chandria!

Chandria has also been known over the years as a village with deep religious and national traditions. It has a long history of contribution to both preserving the Orthodox religion and the independence of Cyprus.

Although its population has decreased the past 50 years people still come back to spend their holidays through the year and preserve the village in a fair condition.
